Upon your arrival in San José, Costa Rica and after you clear customs & immigration, exit the airport terminal, where you will meet our representative. Spend the night at San José in the hotel of your choice.

Tortuguero National Park
Early morning pick up in downtown San Jose for your 3 Day-2 Night Trip to Tortuguero National Park. Admire the biodiversity of an astonishing protected area in Costa Rica as we drive by Braulio Carrillo National Park, a primary forest in 95% of its extension. Have a taste of our delicious Costa Rican breakfast en route. Be our special guest in a banana processing and packaging plant and learn more about one of Costa Rica’s prime products.

Board a comfortable boat upon arrival to the port and let this extraordinarily exotic paradise enchant you, as you travel along the Tortuguero Canals. After lunch, we will visit the museum, the beach area and the small and picturesque town of Tortuguero.

Enjoy nature its best as you undertake a journey through the canals at dawn, and take your best short of a real Caribbean sunrise. After lunch take your time to enjoy our private trails, ride a boat through the canals or just relax.

After breakfast, boat and land transfer to the Caribbean Slopes – Siquirres. Private land transfer to the Pacuare River. Exciting 1-1½ hour river rafting tour to the Pacuare Lodge (class II-III rapids) where you will enjoy a two night stay at Costa Rica’s premier eco-lodge.

After lunch participate an optional canopy tour or waterfall hike, or simply relax in your private bungalow or suite. Dine on gourmet delicacies by candlelight and then visit our upstairs lounge for a cocktail or refreshment before retiring to a restful night’s sleep.

Departure early in the morning by land transfer from the Pacuare to San Jose’s International Airport (approx 2 ½ hrs). Domestic Terminal – Domestic Flight to Puerto Jimenez. Upon arrival, boat transfer across the Golfo Dulce to Playa Cativo Lodge (approx 45 minutes by boat)

Morning boat transfer to Puerto Jimenez (approx 45 minutes). Domestic flight from Puerto Jimenez to San Jose. Upon arrival, private land transfer to Chayote Lodge (approx 1 hour 15 minutes).

Inspired by the rich coffee culture of the region, each nook of the property resembles a piece of the coffee picker’s story and their lifestyle. Moreover, Chayote Lodge’s architecture and design integrates the most noteworthy elements of the coffee culture. For instance, the bungalows will resemble the traditional Coffee Receiving Stations known locally as “Recibidores”.


DAY 10

Full day tour in the Naranjo area.

Naranjo is small town sheltering some of Costa Rica best coffee plantations. Over two hundred years of coffee cultivation, have marked Naranjo as a mecca in the production of some of the finest coffees of the world, achieving several world awards for its quality.

Our first stop will be at the Espiritu Santo Coffee Tour; during hour and a half we will learn all the secrets of why this famous drink has taken the world over. We will be able to learn about all phases of the coffee, from the seed to the cup. The visit takes place in farm own by the local cooperative of coffee growers, where a coffee landscaping of rolling hills make a unique scenery.

After our coffee tour, we will continue to the Municipal Market, where vegetables, fruits, meats and other produce is for sale for the local inhabitants to buy always fresh produce. Our guide will tell us about the different fruits and explain how they are used in local homes. We will have lunch in one the eateries of the market. After lunch we will visit the local church, the Basilica of the Lady of Piedades, rebuilt after several earthquakes in the 1940s.

DAY 11

San José – International Airport
Pick up at your hotel in Naranjo for your private transfer to San Jose International Airport (approx 1 ½ hours) to check in 2 hours prior your departure flight.

Included: Lodging, transportation and meals as specified in the above itinerary where B=breakfast, L=lunch, D=dinner, entrance fees to National Parks and Private Reserves, tours, guide services, applicable taxes, service fees and in-country ground operator support.

Not Included: International airfare, airport departure taxes, meals not specified in the itinerary, alcoholic beverages, personal equipment, extras in hotels (laundry, phone calls, room service), gratuities, or costs associated with changes in your itinerary for reasons beyond our control.
