DAY 1

San José, Costa Rica – Pacuare River
Welcome to Costa Rica! Warmly greeted by our representative, who will present you with land portion vouchers and transfer you to your Lodge at Pacuare River (approx 3 hours), In the way will stop to have a typical Costa Rican breakfast in route. Exciting 1-1½ hour river rafting tour to the Pacuare Lodge (class II-III rapids) where you will enjoy a two night stay at Costa Rica’s premier eco-lodge.

DAY 2

Pacuare River

Day at leisure for optional tours & activities

You’ll wake up to bird song and the soothing sound of the river nearby. Then head over to the main lodge for a delicious breakfast of home-made bread, tropical fruits, yogurt, eggs, pancakes, cereal and juice and coffee.

The lodge employs a resident naturalist guide who will provide you with unique insights into the plant and animal world. Choose from exciting optional tours that include guided hikes through an emerald rainforest, the Cabecar Indian tour – where visitors may participate in a cultural exchange with a shaman and our Adventure Canopy Tour – where visitors glide amid a tropical rainforest canopy

DAY 3

Pacuare River – Arenal Volcano Area
In the morning you will depart by raft for an even more fun-filled day of white water rating excitement (approximately 3½ hours over class III-IV rapids), including a delicious picnic lunch along the river.
At our river take-out you will have a chance to change before being transferred to your hotel in the Arenal Volcano area (approx a 3 ½ hour drive).

DAY 4

Arenal Volcano Area
Morning Arenal Reserve (Sky Trek / Sky Tram) Tour, you will ride an open-air gondola from the ground to the heights where you’ll be dropped off at an observation deck for fantastic views of the volcano and land below. From the observation deck, return to the ground below by riding down on a circuit of zip lines stretching across canyons and between treetops.

Afternoon visit to Arenal Hanging Bridges, enjoy 15 bridges from 5 to 100 meters long, friendly design along 3 km rain forest circuit of interpretive trails built with paving blocks to prevent slipping. The imposing vistas of the Volcano from the hanging bridges over the forest make a perfect combination for an unforgettable experience.

DAY 5

Arenal Volcano Area
This morning enjoy La Roca Canyoneering / Waterfall Rappelling Tour, this half-day tour brings travelers face-to-face with the forests, streams and waterfalls of the Arenal area. You’ll rappel down the side of cliffs, walk across hanging bridges, and splash through streams.

The tour begins with a short rappel to get your adrenalin pumping—which, as it turns out, is also a good way to familiarize yourself with the equipment. Hold on tight to the rope as you ease yourself over the cliff face, and make your way slowly down its side. Once you land, you’ll tromp through small streams and watery ripples as you make your way to the next feature – the hanging bridge. This bridge offers great views into the rainforest, so keep your eyes keen for birds, animals, and reptiles. One of the tour’s most exciting features, the zip line, comes next. During this, you’ll hold onto a carabiner (which is secured safely to a steel cable), lift your legs up, lean forward and fly across the forest floor.

DAY 6

Manuel Antonio National Park
Pick up at your hotel in Arenal Volcano for your private transfer to Manuel Antonio Beach, Quepos (approx 4 ½ hrs).

Manuel Antonio is a community which is composed largely of hotels, separated by trees on a hill overlooking beaches and the coastal Manuel Antonio National Park with rainforest growing to the edge of its beautiful cream colored sandy beaches.  The forest is home to a variety of wildlife that are accustomed to people and readily seen including sloth, monkeys, armadillos, scarlet-legged land crabs, iguanas, agoutis, pizotes, raccoons, parrots, and parakeets.  The ocean water temperature is always near a comfortable 80º F and great for swimming and other water sports.  The region offers numerous other activities such as boating, river rafting, fishing, snorkeling, diving, canopy tours and more.  With a large number of excellent hotels and restaurants in the area outside the Park, visitors are assured a comfortable stay and a diverse offering of local and international cuisine.

DAY 7

Manuel Antonio National Park
Morning Pick-up at your hotel for a half-day tour of Manuel Antonio National Park.
Manuel Antonio is one of the country’s most popular parks because of its unique mix of beaches and forest trails. See how many different kinds of flora and fauna you can spot just in the span of a 2 ½ hour nature walk or hike. And at the end, enjoy some local fresh fruits and refreshments as you pause to savor your adventure thus far. If you so desire, hike additionally through the trails and enjoy unspoiled, un-crowded, pristine beaches after your guided educational adventure ends, and maybe even snorkel after the hike on your own. Learn about the history of the Quepoa Indians and Costa Rica’s past in regard to this stunningly beautiful Manuel Antonio area, and come back with ideas as to how to help preserve this priceless ecosystem and national treasure for generations to come.

San José –  International Airport
Pick up at your hotel in Manuel Antonio Beach for your private transfer to San Jose International Airport (approx 2 ½ hours) to check in 2 hours prior your departure flight
