 A Costa Rica family vacation may be similar in some ways to our Nature Tours. However, activities are geared to activities for families with children. For children, there are many fun activities available in Costa Rica. Guided hikes in the rainforests, and visits to (mildly active) volcanoes can be coupled with stays at hotels with warm-water pools, tours to a tropical frog zoo, butterfly and insect garden, and so forth. Costa Rica beaches can be selected that have shallow, gentle waters for small children. Older children may choose to go snorkeling, boogie boarding or surfing.  Low-key versions of a Costa Rica adventure tour can be organized for families. For example, rafting float trips on calm Class I rivers may be arranged for small children where a guide maneuvers the raft while the youngsters search the forest edge for parrots, howling monkeys, or iguanas. Rafting trips for children 12 and over can be arranged on Class III Rivers for beginners or Class IV for experienced rafters. There are many safe activities for children to enjoy in Costa Rica, and we can develop a variety of vacation packages.
