 Having your own car may make your Costa Rica family vacation a little easier to organize. Or, you may prefer the independence of having your own transportation at your destination.
Many popular destinations in remote portions of Costa Rica can now be reached quickly by a combination of charter flights and local car rental or taxi transfer. This is particularly true in the western coastal areas, where drives to national parks and beaches may be several hours away from San Jose, but a flight can reduce travel times to an hour or less. Costa Rica Connection can arrange your hotel reservations and local charter flight, and have either a taxi available to bring you to your hotel, or a rental car available for you to use to drive to various locations in the area. During the first portion of this package you will fly from San Jose to Tiskita Jungle Lodge. Stay 3 nights at Tiskita Jungle Lodge and enjoy two guided tours of the private rain forest reserve & exotic tropical fruit farm. Upon your arrival into San Jose on Day 5, pick up a mid-size 4 Wheel drive car at the domestic airport for 3 days Car Rental. Drive on your own to the Arenal Volcano and stay 2 nights at the Arenal Observatory Lodge. While in Arenal a locally guided hike in the Arenal Volcano National Park, a visit the Ecotermales Hot Springs, and the Arenal Reserve whihch includes both the Sky Tram and the Sky Trek inside the tropical rain forest.
