Day 1. San José arrival, transfer to your hotel in San José.
Day 2. Land & boat transfer to Tortuguero National Park including breakfast en route. Visit to Tortuguero Town by boat (B, L, D).
Day 3. Early Morning Tortuguero Canal Tour by boat. Check out from Tortuguero National Park to connect with Arenal (B, L).
Day 4. Guided Arenal Hike & Visit to Arenal Hot Springs (B, D)
Day 5. Departure transfer back to the San José International Airport (B)

Welcome to Costa Rica! Warmly greeted by our representative, who will present you with land portion vouchers and transfer you to your hotel.
Tortuguero National Park
You will be picked up in San Jose by a transport representative from your hotel in Tortuguero. Drive through the magnificent Braulio Carrillo National Park on the Limon Highway. Once in the town of Guapiles, you will stop at a local Restaurant for a delicious breakfast. The drive in total will be approximately 3 hours.
At the main port lining the canals you will board a boat for transfer to your hotel in Tortuguero, the boat ride will be approximately 1 hour.
Upon arrival lunch will be served at the Lodge. In the afternoon your local guide will take you to the town for a leisurely walk where you will get a taste of local living.
Tortuguero National Park – Arenal Volcano Area
The vast national park of Tortuguero harbors an incredible variety of wildlife amidst its spectacular rainforests. The best way to view the park is by boat along some of the numerous interconnecting canals and rivers.
To avoid midday heat and tour the canals when wildlife is most active, you will have an early morning boat tour. You will travel at a leisurely pace enabling your naturalist guide, along with an expert local guide, to point out wildlife and interesting flora. You will likely see monkeys, caiman, basilisk lizards, iguanas, herons, toucans, parrots and more. Bring: sunhat, sunscreen, insect repellent, camera, binoculars.
After breakfast, board the boat to bring you back to the docks lining the Tortuguero Canals. At the docks board ground transfer where lunch will be served.
You will then be picked up in Guapiles by one of our transport representatives for transfer to your hotel in Arenal. Transport service will be in a minivan with AC, approximately 3 hour transfer plus any stops on the way.
Arenal is one of the most popular destinations in Costa Rica. The volcano, although inactive for the past few years, is a majestic site. This picturesque region offers natural beauty, amazing wildlife and plenty of outdoor activities for visitors including hiking trails, the famous La Fortuna Waterfall, zip-line tours, rafting, canopy bridge walks, waterfall canyoning, organic farm tours and more. There is also a variety of relaxing hot springs with warm soothing waters heated by the volcano.
Arenal Volcano Area
In the afternoon you will be picked up at your hotel for 2-3 hours guided hike at Arenal Volcano National Park, this hike brings you through rainforest and onto the top of a blocky lava flow. During the walk you may see monkeys, toucans, parrots andother wildlife.
Following this activity you will enjoy the Tabacon Hot Springs, set among attractive tropical gardens, Tabacón Hot Springs is a luxurious resort with volcanically heated waters that naturally surface on the property. The numerous thermal springs that flow through the property into various mini pools have different temperatures to enjoy ranging from 77 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.
Bring: lightweight clothing, hiking shoes, light rain jacket, swimsuit, change of clothes.
Depart to International Airport
Pick up at your hotel in Arenal for a departure transfer to the San Jose International Airport for your international flight. Driving time: 3 ½ hour approx.
Check in 3 hours prior to your scheduled flight time.
